The Gujarat Titans will be locking horns with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in Match 29 of IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 17. Both teams will be heading into this clash oozing with confidence, having registered wins over the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.

Moments ahead of the highly-anticipated match, Hardik Pandya caught up with one of his on-field seniors as well as his good friend MS Dhoni. Not only did the two former Indian teammates catch up, but also posed for a couple of pictures that were posted by Pandya on social media and he captioned them as, “My main man” with a heart emoji.

Hardik Pandya’s match-winning contributions for GT against RR

Skipper Hardik brilliantly led Gujarat from the front in their last match against the Rajasthan Royals with his all-round abilities. He first made a tremendous impact in the middle-order when his lost wickets at regular intervals. The 28-year-old scored at a brisk rate in the middle and death overs and remained unbeaten on 87 runs from 52 deliveries at an outstanding strike rate of 167.3. His knock propelled GT to 192/4.

The younger Pandya also chipped in with the ball as he accounted for his New Zealand counterpart James Neesham to finish with figures of 1/18 from his 2.3 overs. He was adjudged the Player of the Match. The Baroda cricketer has so far amassed 228 runs from five matches averaging 76 and a strike rate of 136.53 including two half-centuries. He has also picked up four wickets.

MS Dhoni, on the other hand, has not been impressive after his quickfire 50 against KKR in the curtain-raiser. He would be hoping to make an impact in the middle-order when he gets a chance against GT. Even though his batting performances have been hot and cold, Dhoni has been exceptional behind the stumps and had effected a breathtaking run out of Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa during the game against Punjab Kings.
