Cricket is a game of uncertainties. Unexpected events are a common experience, and the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the boss of all these things. All the predictions fail here and there is no room for boredom and other unexciting things. One such uncanny happening is a batsman dismissing another batsman.

We usually tend to ignore such events and forget them soon. However, these events take everyone by surprise, when we look back at the past. There have been many batsmen who have dismissed some outstanding and in-form batsmen with the ball in hand, probably because of the latter’s overconfidence and tendency to smash them.

On this note, let us take a look at 5 batsmen, who have taken a wicket in IPL:

1. Ajinkya Rahane (Mumbai Indians)

The world knows Ajinkya Rahane as a classy and technically sound batsman. But only a few know that he has scalped a wicket in the IPL as well. He played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first two editions of the IPL. In the game against KXIP during 2009 season, Sachin Tendulkar, the then MI skipper, decided to play a gamble and handed the ball to Rahane on a dry Centurian pitch.

The move worked as Rahane foxed Luke Pomersbach, who dragged the ball into the stumps. That remains the only over that he has bowled in his whole career till date. He had conceded five runs in the over and hasn’t bowled since then. Though he has become one of the key players in the Indian team and opens the innings for Rajasthan Royals (RR) as well.
