With his fantastic death-bowling skills while playing for Gujarat Lions and Punjab Kings franchises, Andrew Tye made a name for himself in the IPL. Prior to being acquired by the now-defunct Lions in 2017, he was signed by the Chennai-based franchise in 2015.

However, he was not given the opportunity to play for the Chennai franchise. He warmed the benches because Chennai’s lineup included Faf Du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, and Dwayne Smith. He then made his IPL debut for the Gujarat franchise, where he took a hattrick and established himself as a reliable fast bowler.

He then went on to play for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), where he won the Purple Cap in the 2018 edition. The Australian fast bowler is a talented death bowler with a wide range of abilities.

He has a very deceptive slower ball as well as a very accurate Yorker that he employs to perfection. While CSK fielded an all-Indian bowling attack, it was unclear as to why a player of his stature was never given a proper backing by the CSK franchise.
