Young Indian chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has made giant strides in international cricket. Ever since he made his international debut in the 2016-17 home season, Yadav has ensured that he only grows from strength to strength with every passing series. After an impressive Test debut against Australia, Kuldeep now has become a regular face of the Indian limited overs set up.

Kuldeep Yadav, alongside young Yuzvendra Chahal, have managed to become the preferred spinners in the national side and have been bowling really well. Currently, Kuldeep is plying his trade for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the game against Bengal, he baggeda four wicket haul. After the game, as per the quotes in Sportstarlive, the youngsters spoke about the importance of the domestic T20 competition.

“Every match here is important. The team needs you and it is a matter of pride to play for the state, which has given you everything. So I came to play. It also gives you good match practice as you get to play against big players,” quoted Kuldeep Yadav.

On performing in South Africa

Adding further on the same note, Kuldeep exclaimed that he hopes to continue his good rhythm in the upcoming limited overs assignments in South Africa as well. Team India recently lost the Test series and hence, the onus is now on the new brigade to bring about a change in their fortunes in the ODIs and T20Is.

“So far it has been good. I have played the full T20 season (Syed Mushtaq Ali). My rhythm is good. Hopefully, I will be able to continue bowling well there,” he noted.

On his happy hunting ground

Yadav’s recent four-fer against Bengal came at the iconic Eden Gardens. The venue has been a happy hunting ground for him. Commenting on this, he remarked that he loves bowling at the Eden Gardens. Even in the IPL, he has bowled a lot at the venue for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

“It has been five years with Kolkata Knight Riders. It is like family and this is like a home ground for me. I know the angles from where to bowl and am well-versed with the pitch. There is no pressure here. This has been a lucky ground for me,” said the chinaman.

On keeping up with the fitness levels

Kuldeep Yadav also stressed on the fact that he needs to keep himself fit all the time. He reasoned out that in order to keep up with the challenges of the international cricket, staying fit in the longer run is of paramount importance.

“When you are playing for India you have to be fit. Also, if you want to survive for a long time, fitness is very important. I have been working a lot on my fitness for the last two years. Hopefully, I will become fitter by the day,” he conceded.
