Mohammad Amir is currently in Zimbabwe where Pakistan is taking part in a triangular T20I series involving the hosts and Australia. It will be followed by a five-match ODI series versus Zimbabwe and Amir is expected to play a major role in it. He didn’t play the first two T20Is but got an opportunity in the last match where he finished with figures of 4-0-25-1 with the wicket of Tarisai Musakanda.

Amir, over the course of his eventful career, he has bowled to a number of decent batsmen. Recently, in an interaction with ESPNCricinfo in their 25-Questions-Answer session, the left-arm pacer revealed that Steve Smith, the Australian batsman is the toughest batsman to bowl to. During the chat, he also answered a lot of questions in a quickfire round.

He hailed Shahid Afridi’s hairstyle as the best and wished to bowl to Brian Lara, the retired Windies cricketer. The cricketer finds ‘deadlift’ as the most boring workout and craves to have three hatricks in all three formats of the sport. Moreover, he mentioned Sergio Aguero, the Argentina footballer, as his favorite sportsman outside cricket.

Amir’s topsy-turvy career

He has had a stop-start career thus far. The speedster burst on to the scene as a teenager and captured everyone’s imaginations with his raw pace and ability to move the leather. In 2011, he along with Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt was found guilty of spot-fixing at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Consequently, the trio was slapped with suspensions.

In 2015, Amir’s ban was lifted by the world’s apex cricket board in the International Cricket Council (ICC). He made his comeback in the 2016 Asia Cup versus India where he picked up three vital wickets and pushed the Men in Blue on the backfoot. However, he hasn’t quite been consistent following his return. Apart from a few glimpses of brilliance, he has mostly been under par.
