Team India decided to rest their key players for the series. This meant that the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were rested. This came as an ideal opportunity for Jaydev Unadkat to step up and be the spearhead of the side. Albeit he finished with 7 wickets to his name in the series, his bowling performances were far from being impressive.

Unadkat leaked runs at over 9 runs per over in the series and this also saw him getting dropped from the playing eleven for the match. The performances of other pacers like Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj were equally bad on the economy front. However, Unadkat, with the experience thhat he came in, should have delivered in a lot better way. He certainly would see this as a chance gone begging to make an impact.

5. Mustafizur Rahman

It was not long ago when Mustafizur Rahman was seen as the next big thing in the world cricket. However, the shining star seems to have lost his plot and charm big time. Mustafizur came in to the series as the bowling spearhead of the Bangladeshi side. However, he failed to deliver for his team in the way his side expected him to do. The batsmen found him easy to negotiate with.

Neither was he successful with the new ball, nor did the old ball work for him. Also, his economy rate was at the higher end making things worse for him. With just 7 wickets in 5 games, Mustafizur certainly had a poor series. The good thing for him was the final over that he bowled in the series. He would take some confidence from that.
