Rajasthan Royals will lock horns in an important game against four-time champions Chennai Super Kings on May 20. Sanju Samson and co. will be fully aware that their spot in the playoffs is at stake, and this match will play a vital role in deciding their fate in the tournament. A win against CSK here will confirm a top-two finish for the Royals as they will supersede LSG in terms of Net Run Rate.

Talking about Rajasthan’s plans and strategy against CSK, who have been eliminated from the tournament, former South Africa captain Graeme Smith said that he expects a comprehensive show from the Royals.

“Jos Buttler should look to get another big knock under the belt, we’ve all talked about the importance of finishing in the top two and giving yourself an extra chance of playing in the knockouts. So that will be the key for Rajasthan as well,” he told Star Sports.

“They’ve played good cricket so far; they’ve found in the form. [Shimron] Hetmyer is back after the birth of his first child so that’s also a positive sign for the Royals. They would just be hoping that they click in all the areas against Chennai. The openers will need to give them a good start,” he added.

It is a golden chance for Rajasthan Royals to finish in the top two: Harbhajan Singh

Adding to Smith’s comments, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also said that it is a golden chance for the Royals to secure a top-two spot.

“It is a golden chance for Rajasthan Royals to finish in the top two and give them an extra shot at fighting for the trophy. Beating CSK is never an easy task for any team, but Royals will be disappointed if they fail to win as they’ll lose the opportunity,” said Harbhajan.
