Shubman Gill made a statement of intent to the national selectors with a sensational double ton in the Ranji Trophy clash against Tamil Nadu. Banking on his 268 off 328 balls, Punjab registered 479 runs in their first innings. Tamil Nadu remained at 166/3 in their second innings, still trailing their opponents by 98 runs.

Veteran cricketer Jalaj Saxena pulled off another breathtaking spell to help Kerala register a big win against Delhi. The previous season’s runners-up got bowled for 154 runs following on and surrendered a victory by an innings and 27 runs.

Hardik Pandya continued his purple patch as he notched a crucial half-century for Baroda in their Group A game against Mumbai. Yet, Mumbai took a slender first-innings advantage. Mumbai lost two wickets in the 11 overs they played in their second innings with Pandya taking both the wickets.

Irfan Pathan stars as J&K defeat Haryana

Senior bowler Irfan Pathan picked up a five-fer in the second innings as Haryana got bowled for a paltry 91 runs chasing 222 runs. Pathan had picked four of his five wickets in the third session on Day 2 and completed a five-fer on Day 3. Umar Nazir Mir was named the player of the match for picking 8 wickets in the game.

Defending champions Vidarbha are aiming to register their second win of the campaign against Railways. They have posted a 243-run target for Railways and they lost their first wicket towards the end of the day scoring just 19 runs. The bowlers have a job in their hands as they need nine wickets to win the game.
