Ravindra Jadeja has impressed a lot: Shane Jurgensen

New Zealand bowling coach Shane Jurgensen is currently on the receiving end of a considerable amount of flak following the Kiwis’ poor outing in India. Kane Williamson’s men find themselves 2-0 down in the series and with pride to play for in the final Test at Indore. However, in spite of this, Jurgensen is impressed by the way the bowlers have gone about executing their plans.

He said, “I am very pleased with how the bowlers have gone, particularly in the second innings. I think we bowled at the times when it was the hottest and most humid, the intensity the guys brought in the second innings and to take 20 wickets and get ourselves in the game and give us an opportunity was fantastic.”

Speaking about the Indian bowlers, Shane Jurgensen went on to heap praise on the pacers courtesy of their impressive accuracy. Moreover, their ability to trouble the batsmen at will is something that not many have been able to pull off in recent times. The New Zealand bowling coach went on to add that they put any opposition under pressure.

“One area I’ve been observing is the Indian bowlers are very accurate, they have developed a lot in that area. They put a lot of pressure and use subtle variations. They know the conditions very well and they manipulate it to suit,” he said.

Finally, Jurgensen added the Ravindra Jadeja factor into his conversation, stating that the 27-year old was the one who had shown the most maturity in terms of growth. He said, “Jadeja has improved a lot.”

India will be aiming to complete a clean sweep in the final Test match at Indore. Should Virat Kohli’s men pull this off, they would have solidified their place atop the World Test rankings.
