Sri Lanka v India Test series the Indian Report card – India Player ratings: India’s first overseas Test series win since the West Indies tour of 2011 and Virat Kohli’s first series win as captain, the fans have all the reasons to rejoice. After a heartbreaking loss in the first Test India came back strongly to clinch the series 2-1. Kohli was impressive in his first big series as the skipper. One good thing was that each match produced a result and credit must be given to the curators. Ashwin and Amit Mishra were the vital cog in India’s bowling line up and were well supported by a recharged Ishant Sharma. The batting was never at its best but guys stood up when it was needed. Dhawan, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli and Rahane scored fabulous centuries to maintain India’s strong hold over the Lankans throughout.

1. M Vijay – 7/10
He was out of the first Test with the injury and couldn’t play in the last one as well. But when he got a chance at the P Sara Oval in Colombo he made it count with a gritty 82 run knock.
