Pakistan's fast bowler Mohammad Amir has taken a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the board announced the squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup on September 15. It is safe to say that the left-arm pacer did not like the combination as he expressed himself through a tweet.

Notably, Amir has not represented Pakistan in T20I cricket since 2020. The left-arm seamer took retirement from international cricket but he later withdrew it making him available for selection in the Pakistan team. Amir has represented Pakistan in 50 T20I games, picking up 59 wickets at an economy of 7.02. He last represented Pakistan during the second T20I against England in Manchester in 2020.

The left-arm pacer took to Twitter to express his frustration. '"hief selectors ki cheap selection", Amir wrote on Twitter.

Shoaib Malik not named in the squad, Fakhar Zaman in reserves

The Pakistan team selection committee has also excluded veteran batter Shoaib Malik while another senior batter Fakhar Zaman has been named in the reserves. Interestingly, Sharjeel Khan has also not been named on the team. Young batters like Haidar Ali and Shan Masood have been named in the squad.

Meanwhile, skipper Babar Azam will continue to lead the side with all-rounder Shadab Khan acting as his deputy. Express pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is also set to make his comeback to the team and he will be looking to have a good outing against England as well after missing the Asia Cup due to injury. The Men in Green are set to take on England in seven-match T20I series slated to start on September 20.
