Scotland and Ireland are currently crossing swords in their penultimate fixture of the First-Round in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Scotland are coming into this fixture with a win in their previous encounter against the West Indies.

Whereas Ireland have to win this clash against Scotland after they bowed down to Zimbabwe in their first match. A win for Scotland against the Irish side will nearly ensure them a place in the T20 World Cup Super 12.

Scotland opted to bat first at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart and are currently making life difficult for Ireland. Opener Michael Jones was instrumental with the bat upfront and set up the game really well for Scotland.

In the tenth over of the innings, Ireland's left-arm pacer Joshua Little was bought into the attack to help derail the Scottish batters. However, Jones, who was scoring at a steady pace, was at 40 at the time and had other ideas in mind.

In the video, we can see that the left-arm pacer bowled a short of a good length delivery, to which the batter (Jones) pulled a ‘sweet’ one right off the middle of his bat for a massive six. He dispatched the ball high and behind square on the on-side for a 98 meter gigantic maximum with his clean hit. The right hander was eventually dismissed by the very same bowler as the former attempted a helicopter shot but could not get enough power and was caught by Mark Adair at an individual score of 86.

Scotland could earn Super 12 spot

Scotland are pushing hard to give the rival side a run for its money and win the match. A win would further help the side get one step closer to reaching the group stage of the showpiece event.

Ireland have quite a task on their hands as they are chase a mammoth total 176.
