Sohail Tanvir slams former Pakistan players for posting embarrassing remarks on social media

A lot of former Pakistan cricketers are using social media to make their opinions on Pakistan cricket.

There have been several instances of Pakistan cricketers criticizing their fellow teammates publicly. Most of the time, it is ex-cricketers speaking up their minds on the current players. Other times, there have been cases where former cricketers have said harsh things about their former teammates. Former Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir talked about these situations in an interview recently.

Tanvir expressed that he feels that former and current Pakistan players need to be slightly more thoughtful and sensible while using their social media accounts. He said that it could only end giving a negative impression to people about Pakistan cricket. He also said players should be responsible while using their accounts.

“I think that our former and current players need to be very thoughtful and sensible while using social media because we could all end up only giving off a negative impression of Pakistan cricket,” Tanvir said as quoted by TOI. “I think former and current players need to be more responsible for social media.”

Tanvir further said that comment or remark which hasn’t been thought of properly can bring embarrassment to the user itself. He also said it could embarrass them when they the person the next time. The left-arm pacer further said that players who write things on social media, which they otherwise won’t say to each other’s faces.

“A thoughtless comment or remark can cause embarrassment for the user and otherwise when they meet each other the next time. I would suggest that they don’t say things on social media which they wouldn’t say face to face or which they wouldn’t like others to say about them,” Tanvir added.

Recently, former Pakistan players Danish Kaneria and Faisal Iqbal engaged in a Twitter battle. Iqbal accused Kaneria of his charges of match-fixing while the leg-spinner too insulted Iqbal. Other than this, former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf had also made some shocking comments about current head coach Misbah-ul-Haq. Yousuf insulted Mishab by saying he doesn’t have any experience of coaching and that he has no talent.

In another incident, Rameez Raja said that Shoiab Malik and Mohammad Hafeez should retire and that Pakistan should start looking for new players. Malik didn’t take the comment lightly and tweeted about this. After this, two players had an argument on the social media platform.
