Baroda and Delhi played the game of the day at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Friday, which went all the way down to the final ball. Mumbai stuttered quite badly against Tamil Nadu whilst Karnataka continued their winning spree and are looking all set for yet another title in the domestic circuit.

Haryana chipped in with a stunning all-round performance, registering a morale-boosting win against Rajasthan. Rajasthan scored just 123 runs batting first with Rahul Tewatia firing with the ball. He picked up three wickets, giving away just 18 runs. Harshal Patel continued his excellent run in the top order, scoring a crucial 41 and seeing his side through with 4 wickets and 28 balls remaining.

Mumbai looked a bit too rusty in their game against Tamil Nadu and ended up getting humiliated. Shams Mulani saved the day partly for the 41-time Ranji champions as his 73-run knock helped them go past the 120-run mark in their 20 overs. Sai Kishore and M Siddarth picked 7 wickets among themselves for Tamil Nadu, who chased the total down with relative ease in just 13.5 overs.

Padikkal scores a half-century; Karnataka continue to steamroll opponents

It was just another day at the office for Manish Pandey and his troops. Devdutt Padikkal scored a half-century as they put up 189 runs on the board batting first against Jharkhand. Virat Singh and Anand Singh tried their best to get Jharkhand to a winning position, but that never happened and they fell short by 13 runs.

Coming back to the game of the day, Baroda scored 151 runs batting first. Aditya Waghmode and Deepak Hooda made crucial contributions to the side. Kunwar Bidhuri’s half-century kept Delhi in the driver’s seat for a good period of time, but some outstanding death bowling from Baroda made things interesting towards the end. Eventually, Delhi fell just one run short of the target.
