Over the last few days, a number of cricketers have been conducting Question and Answer sessions on the social media platforms. The players are mostly in quarantine due to the lockdown after the coronavirus outbreak. The sessions have given them a chance to interact with the fans. The latest to join the bandwagon is Tom Moody, the former Australian all-round cricketer.

On Saturday, April 4, the veteran decided to spend his off-time with some talks with his supporters. Bearing in mind his fandom, a number of fans came forward with their queries. In one of the questions, he was asked about the hardest batsman to stop in the T20 format.

Asking Moody the question, CricTracker took to Twitter and wrote, “Who according to you is the toughest batsman to stop in T20 Cricket? #AskTom,”

The choice was expected to be difficult one since there are a number of explosive batters doing the rounds in the shortest format. However, he zeroed in on Andre Russell, the West Indies all-rounder. Moody replied to “At the moment, @Russell12A because of his destructible power,”

Here is Tom Moody’s reply

Andre Russell wielding magic

Andre Russell is one of the sought-after players in the T20 world. When the Jamaican hits the leather, more or less, it stays hit. In 321 T20s, the 31-year-old already has 5,365 runs at a superhuman strike-rate of 171.29. He is kind of a batter, who doesn’t like to deal in singles and doubles. Rather, he prefers to push the bowlers on the backfoot right from the outset.

The fact that he has notched 425 sixes shows his stupendous ability to smack the cricket leather. Russell also has a couple of centuries, both coming in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He scored the tons, representing the Jamaica Tallawahs against the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR).

Even in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has weaved magic for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). A couple of months ago, he also led the Rajshahi Royals to glory in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Moreover, Russell has plied his trade in the Global T20 Canada and the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia.
