Indian bowlers were completely rendered ineffective by the Australian opening pair of David Warner and Shane Watson. In the 2012 edition, in the group 2 match, India had set a target of 141 runs for Australia to chase at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. This target was easily overhauled by Australia with 9 wickets in hand after Warner and Watson put together a grand 133-run stand. India had used 8 bowlers in the match but no one could affect the duo’s run scoring. The pair missed out on doing their job themselves after Yuvraj Singh managed to get better of Shane Watson in the 14 overs of the match to break the partnership.
