Twitter is curious as Rohit Sharma unfollows Virat Kohli from social media platforms

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been two of India’s most reliable batsmen in international cricket. While the former is the captain of the national team and has tasted success around the globe across the three formats, the latter has been a brute force in limited overs’ cricket, albeit he hasn’t been able to translate his form in the longest version of the sport.

Rohit scored a couple of centuries in India’s ODI and T20I series against England. However, despite his rich vein of form, he wasn’t included in the Test squad. Virat, though, is currently the leading run scorer of the series with 544 runs at an average of 68. The Delhi-born cricketer has also notched a couple of centuries at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge respectively.

A possible rift?

In the meantime, Rohit was named as the captain of the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Virat was benched for the tournament as a part of BCCI’s workload management of the players. Last year, Rohit captained India in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which the home team won after losing the first match.

The 31-year-old would be keen to put his best foot forward in the series and help India defend their title. In the meantime, all doesn’t seem to be well between Virat and Rohit. Lately, it has been learned that the Maharashtra-born cricketer has unfollowed the 29-year-old from all the social media websites, which includes Twitter and Instagram.

The duo has also been involved in a number of run-outs on the cricket pitch, something which indicates towards their lack of understanding. Meanwhile, Twitter is tensed and the supporters are interested to know why Rohit Sharma unfollowed the Indian captain.
