The second ODI between India and England at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium is currently taking place. The match has already been a witness to some impressive performances. After Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow got their team off to a blistering start with a half-century partnership. However, Kuldeep Yadav again turned out to be a thorn in their flesh.
The chinaman picked up both Bairstow and Roy in quick succession to put the skids under their opponents. Bairstow went for a sweep-shot and saw his woodwork go for a toss. In his third over, the chinaman bowler nipped out Roy, who perished after threatening to take the match away from the visitors with a knock of 40 runs from 42 balls. He also succumbed to a mistimed sweep.
The ethereal moment
Nevertheless, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan pulled proceedings back for the home team with a half-century stand. Meanwhile, just after the end of the 23rd over, a delightful incident panned out at the venue, which filled the air with love. A couple was seen in a moment where they went head over heels for each other. The boy proposed to his loved one and to his delight the girl obliged gleefully.
The cameraman’s focus was on the lovebirds and even Sky Sports did their bit. When the boy proposed, they displayed ‘Decision Pending’ on the screen. After the girl accepted the proposal, they displayed She said ‘YES’. The duo also hugged each other after the successful proposal.
In the meantime, Twitter couldn’t hold to their emotions and they praised them for the ethereal moment at the ‘Home of Cricket’. The English contingent in the audience had more to cheer as Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a no-ball to present Eoin Morgan a free-hit, which he couldn’t convert.
