India have already lost the five-match Test series against England. Virat Kohli and Co are currently 1-3 down in the series and are playing the fifth and final match at Kennington Oval in London. They had a good chance to win the first match at Edgbaston in Birmingham but lost by a slender margin of 31 runs. The second match turned out to be equivalent to a nightmare for them.
India lost by an innings and 159 runs at Lord’s- The Home of Cricket. Their batters were founding on both occasions and hence, Joe Root’s men had to encounter no challenge whatsoever in rolling over their opponents. With their backs to the wall, India made a resounding comeback at Trent Bridge in Nottingham by winning the match by a mammoth margin of 203 runs.
Kohli lose five in five
Virat Kohli scored his 23rd century and coupled with half-centuries from Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Hardik Pandya, the Indian batters did their bit. Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah thereafter churned out five-wicket hauls to help India open their account in the series. However, the visiting team couldn’t hold on to their impressive form in the fourth Test.
At The Ageas Bowl in Southampton, Kohli’s men lost by 60 runs to concede the series. They had their fair share of chances to put the mockers on their opponents, but the Poms had answers to every question hurled at them by the Indians. With 245 runs needed in the fourth innings, India lost wickets at regular intervals and barring, Kohli and Rahane’s fifty, couldn’t get over the line.
The ongoing match is nothing but a dead rubber. In the meantime, Kohli’s luck with the toss has also been pretty abysmal. The Delhi-born cricketer has lost all the five tosses. Quite expectantly, Twitterati is finding it tough to believe Kohli’s luck with the coins.

In other news @imVkohli has lost the toss again. That's 5 tosses lost in a row. Soon he will hold a record for most tosses lost as a captain. #ENGvIND

If only kohli had half the luck on the toss as he had had during batting. This could have been 2-2 or even 3-1 in India favour coming to this test. #ENGvIND

Joe Root is first captain in 19 years to win all tosses in a 5-Test series (since Mark Taylor in 1998-99 Ashes). #EngvInd

Lala Amarnath, Kapil Dev (both vs West Indies) and now Virat Kohli are the Indian captains to lose all 5 tosses in a series. Tiger Pataudi remains the only Indian captain to win all 5 tosses in a series (v England, 1963-64).#ENGvIND https://t.co/AvrYfwsiYm

West Indians John Goddard (1948/49 in India) and Clive Lloyd (1982/83 in WI) and now Joe Root – the three captains to win all five tosses in a series against India.#EngvInd
