Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma dance to Punjabi tunes at the reception in Delhi

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are back in India after getting married in Italy and spending time together on their honeymoon in Finland witnessing the northern sky from the igloos. They landed in the capital a day before their mega reception in New Delhi.

The couple hosted a grand reception at the Durbar Hall of Taj Diplomatic Enclave. There were a lot of hotshots who attended the wedding reception. There was a special performance from Gurdas Maan a Punjabi singer and performer who happens to be Virat’s favourite. Virat and Anushka shared the dance floor on some of his famous tunes. Shikhar Dhawan, who was present among the few cricketers and he also danced with Virat.

Prime Minister greets the couple

There were many big shots present at the reception but the most notable personality was Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He blessed the couple as they were in awe of his presence. The Indian PM was personally invited by the couple when they visited his residence a day earlier. The personal invitation was one of the main reasons he visited the reception.

That said, there were many other personalities as at the reception. Dhawan and his wife, Gautam Gambhir and his wife Natasha were also present at the reception and so was Suresh Raina. Dhawan and Virat danced to the tunes of Gurdas Maan with Virat holding Zoravar, Shikhar’s son. The two Indian cricketers are longtime friends and have been known for their friendship and also their famous “Bhangra”.

Some of the videos showed Anushka Sharma and Virat doing their thing on the dance floor, they were dancing and listening to some of the famous tunes from Maan. Anushka was enjoying the reception to the fullest.

The newlyweds wore outfits designed yet again by Sabyasachi. Virat was wearing a black silk kurta and donned it with a shawl which was hand designed and Anushka wore a red Banarasi sari. Sabyasachi also designed their wedding outfits. The next reception will be for Bollywood celebs and Indian cricketers on 26th of December in Mumbai.
