Virat Kohli spotted in the nets for the first time after suffering neck injury

Virat Kohli is one of the best cricketers around the world in the modern times. He is one of the busiest cricketers around and is a supremely fit athlete. However, workload beyond limits can even get the better of the best and that was the case with Virat Kohli as well.

The Indian skipper was injured during the recent IPL. In the game against Sunrisers, Kohli suffered a neck injury while trying to dive to take a catch. However, he didn’t feel the pain at that point in time and went on to play another game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

But later, since he was beginning to have some troubles with his neck, he met the doctors. It was then confirmed that he will sit out for few weeks to recover to play competitive cricket. In the process, he also had to withdraw from his county stint with Surrey in England.

Good news for Virat Kohli fans!

Despite all this sad news, the best news for a Kohli fan is that he has begun practising in the nets. For the first time after the neck injury, Virat made his way to the nets to have some light drills. The 29-year-old batsman arrived at the Bandra Kurla Complex on Wednesday to train, a report in the Times of India suggests. The report also adds that he was accompanied by Sanjay Bangar, assistant coach of Indian cricket team.

It is expected that Kohli will undergo a fitness test around June 15th. As per the reports, it is believed that he will need a bit more time to recover. The fitness test that will take place in National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. It will decide his future if he will be playing in England or not.

“He’s begun with a relatively lighter stint at the indoor nets. In a couple of days, he’ll be back on the field. By the end of the first two weeks (of June) – around the 15th – he’ll be in Bangalore for the fitness test and to begin training,” a source told TOI.

Indian team is scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20Is and five Test matches in England beginning this July.
