Virat Kohli talks about his clothing line on Twitter, fans plead him to rejoin the team

Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, was active on Twitter. The 29-year-old never leaves an opportunity to endorse his products and he was at it once again this morning. While Kohli is cooling his feet off the field, the Indian side were in hot waters against Sri Lanka in Dharamshala. The visitors restricted India to 29/7 at one stage and they were in all sorts of trouble.

MS Dhoni’s 65 and a vital 41-run stand between him and Kuldeep Yadav helped the hosts go past the 100-run mark before getting wrapped up for 112. The Indian fans missed Kohli in the field. Rohit Sharma is currently leading the Indian side and the fans want Kohli to be back for the ongoing series.

Internet plead Kohli to rejoin team

The internet turned out to be a hilarious platform where followers started sharing memes and videos in order to convince Kohli to make a comeback. The 29-year-old scored back-to-back double tons in the Test series against Sri Lanka and was awarded the man of the series trophy. He was very much missed in today’s encounter.

Kohli has played non-stop cricket for over a year now and the board has given him much needed rest. He had earlier said that he needs break too and that he is not a robot. “Definitely, I do need a rest,” Kohli said. “Why not? When I think of the time when my body needs to be rested, I’ll ask for it. I am not a robot, you can slice my skin and check, I bleed.” he said.

He also pointed out that fans don’t understand the concept of rest. “People only look at, ‘oh everyone has played 40 games.’ They don’t look at time spent on the crease, the number of runs that have been run between the wickets, the number of overs they have been bowling in difficult conditions: what are the conditions, what were the temperatures like, have the bodies recovered or not?” Kohli said.
