Mohammad Amir has made a superb comeback to cricket after serving a 5-year ban. His consistent performances in Pakistan’s domestic cricket got him a contract with the Chittagong Vikings in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. Amir has consistently picked up wickets and has been the strike bowler for his team. Against the Dhaka Dynamites, he bowled a brilliant first over without conceding a run and also troubled the opener, Shykat Ali.

To everyone’s surprise, it was leg-spinner Yasir Shah who opened the innings along with Ali instead of Mohammad Hafeez. The Pakistani veteran has categorically denied chances of him sharing a dressing room with Amir who had tarnished the country’s image being involved in spot-fixing.

Ali had to face the brunt of Amir in a feisty first over which the right-hander was lucky to survive. The first ball was full and swinging which he nearly chopped onto his stumps. It was followed by a length delivery which again swung in and hit his pads.

The third ball again almost produced a wicket. Looking to drive a full in-swinging delivery to covers, the batsman missed it completely as the ball went past the inner edge through to the keeper. There was a sound however that was off the bat hitting the ground.

The next ball was again missed by Ali who was all at sea against the talented left-arm fast bowler. The fifth ball was angled across the batsman and finally Ali was able to defend it solidly towards cover. The final delivery was played with an angled bat towards mid-on as the batsman attempted a straight drive however the swing and length denied him the placement. Consistently bowling at 140kmph, Amir showcased his skills and continued his good form in the BPL.
