Manish Pandey
Fresh from a century in the Deodhar Trophy, where he was playing for India B, Pandey has been on the fringes for a number of years now. He has carried the domestic form into the IPL and has recorded scores of 81*, 25*, 46 and 69*. He is one of the reasons why KKR have won 4 out of 5 games this season. Aged 27, Pandey still has a lot of cricket years ahead of him and India must utilise his talents at the ODI level.
Pandey made a great start to his ODI career when he scored an unbeaten century at Sydney against Australia which culminated into a thrilling 6 wicket win chasing a mammoth 331. Since then he got limited opportunities and was made to sit out through India’s last ODI series against England. The Karnataka batsman deserves a longer rope in the ODI team also because he is a terrific fielder along with a solid middle-order batsman.
