Indian cricket team has finished their national duties as they are back to the country after winning the T20 tri-series in Sri Lanka. Indian Premier League’s 11th edition is not far. Teams would’ve started chalking out their plans on paper as to how they want their side to go about business once the tournament starts.

India’s test team wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the auction. The 33-year-old batsman was a regular in the Kings XI Punjab side where he used to bat at the top order. However, the Kolkata batsman doesn’t mind batting in the lower middle order of the playing XI. In 2014, Saha had smashed a ton batting at number 4 against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

‘Read to bat anywhere’

Saha while speaking about his batting position suggested that Sunrisers Hyderabad have two great openers in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and skipper David Warner. As per Saha who was bought by the SRH for a hefty amount of 5 crores, he wouldn’t mind batting down the order. “I prefer batting at the top but I have kept rotating in terms of my batting position. With SRH, I will probably bat in the lower middle order. We have great openers (Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner) so they will do well. I am ready to bat anywhere for the team,” said Saha.

Saha when asked how he will gel up with the new team and the new conditions said that, getting along with new side in not tough these days at the top-level. However, the right-hander admitted that he will have to adjust to the wicket in Hyderabad. “I was playing in Mohali and I know the wicket there. Now I will be playing for Hyderabad, so I will have to adjust to the wicket. As far as gelling with the players is concerned, it won’t be a problem. Everybody is familiar at this level,” the wicketkeeper said.

Sun Risers Hyderabad will start their campaign at home against Rajasthan Royals on 9th April. It will be interesting to see what batting position does Saha manages to occupy in the playing XI.
