A couple of days ago, Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, lashed out a supporter, who mentioned that he doesn’t like watching the Indians play and rather, prefers to see the Australian and English cricketers ply their trade on the cricket pitch. Moreover, he went on to say that he there’s nothing special about Kohli. The comments didn’t go down well with the 30-year-old.

He lashed out at the fan and mentioned that he should leave India if he likes other countries more than his own countrymen. The Delhi-born cricketer’s comments have been greeted with severe backlashes, albeit a few of them have spoken in favour of Virat. After all the trolling, the right-handed batsman eventually opened up and said he believes in ‘freedom of choice’.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “I guess trolling isn’t for me guys, I’ll stick to getting trolled! I spoke about how “these Indians” was mentioned in the comment and that’s all. I’m all for freedom of choice. Keep it light guys and enjoy the festive season. Love and peace to all.”

More trouble for Virat?

Recently, it has been learned that the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), a two-member panel, is all set to investigate the matter.

“The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) will look into the matter,” a source close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was quoted as saying in International Business Times (IB Times).

Kohli is currently on a break as Rohit Sharma is captaining the Indian team in the T20I series against Windies. He recently celebrated ‘Karvachauth’ in Pune along with wife Anushka Sharma, who joined Virat after the third ODI.

He also celebrated his 30th birthday on November 05 and was showered with praises from every nook and corner of the country. He is scheduled to be back for India’s three-match T20I series against Australia, starting November 21 at The Gabba in Brisbane.
