All-rounder Stuart Binny’s inclusion into the Rajasthan Royals (RR) side turned out to be a big mistake as the 33-year-old failed miserably to give his side the desired stability in the middle-order. He could muster only a run before being stumped out by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik and ended up wasting four precious deliveries to score that lone run. RR ended the innings with 142 runs, which was all too easy for KKR to chase down.

Had Binny been utilised with the ball as an extra pace option, one could’ve still forgiven skipper Ajinkya Rahane for the decision to draft him in. However, that was not done either and in the process, RR effectively wasted the opportunity to extract some good contribution from the likes of Prashant Chopra or Shreyas Gopal.
