While Yuvraj Singh has been at the receiving end of much flak owing to his lacklustre performance against the Mumbai side, one has to understand that the man isn’t the sort of player who should be sent so further down the order. KXIP messed up their chances the instant they sent in Axar Patel ahead of Singh, the former being much less experienced with the bat as compared to the former.

Although Patel scored 10 runs off 8 balls, 60% of that tiny score came off a six while the rest of the deliveries he ended up wasting without the strike being rotated. The move to demote a genuine batsman-all-rounder for someone as scarcely acquainted with batting in crunch situations like Patel was indeed baffling. Yuvraj Singh‘s cause more problems as the veteran player came into bat in the face of too much pressure and failed to deliver, leading KXIP to lose the game by three runs.
