Retained by CSK ahead of IPL 2022 auctions, Moeen Ali had huge expectations lined up in front of him by the CSK management. However, due to indifferent form and injury concerns, Moeen hasn’t been able to perform to the best of his abilities this season. This week though, he had a fine outing against his former team, RCB.

Firstly, he starred with the ball and dismissed both of the RCB openers. The wicket of du Plessis was a very important one as he was just looking to take off. Then he bowled an absolute peach to castle Virat Kohli. His economy rate was good too, as he gave away just seven runs per over.

In the second innings, it was his chance to shine with the bat. He smashed two fours and as many sixes in his knock of 34(27). Although he is a world-class all-rounder, he hasn’t exactly excelled at the IPL level, with just 787 runs and 18 wickets in 40 games, though his runs have come at a healthy strike rate of 142.57, which indicates he is an impact player.
