Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will face each other in the 6th match of IPL 2022, scheduled on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at the MCA International Stadium in Pune. Both the teams had an unsatisfactory IPL 2021, finishing in the bottom two positions. While Rajasthan Royals finished at seventh place with 5 wins, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished at eighth with just 3 wins.
Rajasthan Royals have retained three batters at the top of the order with Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson. Another lethal player in the top-order is Devdutt Padikkal, who proved his talent in the IPL after breaking records in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This follows the big-hitting players in Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag.
The bowling attack has two very experienced Indian spinners in R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. Their pace bowling might be an area of concern with main players being Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna.
SRH’s batting line-up doesn’t look like completed without David Warner. However, they have bought Rahul Tripathi, a consistent performer over the years. They also have some quality overseas batting options in captain Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram and Glenn Phillips in the middle order. The problem is, obviously, they can’t be playing all of them at the same time.
So they might not play Glenn Phillips, who doesn’t have a decent record on Asian soil. The bowling line-up of SRH is a mix of the experience of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Washington Sundar, along with the exciting talents of T Natarajan and Umran Malik. Both the teams will be having the same skippers from last season in the form of Kane Williamson and Sanju Samson for SRH and RR, respectively.
