Owners of six teams in the Mumbai T20 League announced

The Mumbai T20 league has been speculated to be a grand tournament in Mumbai. The event will be staged at the iconic Wankhede Stadium from March 11 to 21. Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated the league and is also the event’s brand ambassador. His son Arjun Tendulkar was also slated to take part in the tournament, however, he pulled owing to his quest of remodeling his bowling action.

The league also had a rough phase when real estate company Shree Naman Developers refrained from participation in the event. Mumbai North franchise was bagged by the company for 6 crores after which they opted out of the league due to anonymous reasons. They shot an email to the MCA pertaining to their withdrawal from the event. However, to their relief, the franchise has managed to find a replacement.

Recently, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and Probability Sports India Private Limited (PSIPL) announced the owners of the six teams that will take part in the Mumbai Cricket League. Previously, bids were invited from the franchises and the owners have been announced through a media release. T20 leagues like the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) and the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) have been grand successes.

Sachin Tendulkar has mentioned the league as a platform for budding cricketers to graduate to higher levels. Players like Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane have also expressed their desires to take part in the tournament. The Wankhede Stadium has been a witness to some historic encounters and the league is slated to write a new chapter in the history of Mumbai cricket
