The auction for the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place on Tuesday. The auction brings a lot of enthusiasm to the table. The fans are excited to know for which team their favourite players will play. Along with the big names, there are some rookies who will go under the hammer. Mumbai‘s Shivam Dube is the biggest of the local attractions.

He has got the ability to strike the ball miles and can also deliver a few overs with the ball. The stakes are already high on him. Furthermore, right at the stroke of the IPL auction, the talented cricketer smashed five sixes in an over to put his hitting prowess on the display.

Swapnil Singh takes advantage of the ‘unfair’ rules

In the sixth round of the tournament, these two Group-A teams met each other. In the fourth innings of the match, Shivam Dube came in at his usual number eight position. During the course of his innings, the left-hander decided to take on the left-arm spinner to the cleaners. The incident took place in the 79th over of the innings.

He hit two sixes before that and was batting on 45. The left-hander smashed a six off the first ball of the over to reach his half-century. He fancied the long-on and deep mid-wicket region where he hit four out of his five sixes. One six was hit towards the long-off. His hitting ability reminded the fans of Yuvraj Singh.

While Dube was all set to go into the record books, he was denied the opportunity. Swapnil Singh made the most of the rules in the longer format and bowled a wide on the sixth delivery. After a marathon knock, Shivam Dube got out after scoring 76 off 60 deliveries.
