Emirates Cricket Board confirms receiving official clearance from BCCI to host IPL 2020

  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially given the clearance of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to host the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
  • The Indian Government officially gave permission to the BCCI to shift the tournament outside the country due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

England pacer Stuart Broad fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

  • Broad was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
  • Broad’s previous breaches were on 27 January this year during the fourth Test against South Africa at the Wanderers.
