Mustafizur Rahman shot into the limelight in the ODI series against India in 2015. He impressed everyone with his variations and batsmen found it tough to pick him. Mitchell Johnson was a surprise buy by the KKR at the auction this year. He hasn&#8217;t had great times with the ball in the last three seasons. However, KKR went ahead with him and will regret their decision now. Although Johnson wasn&#8217;t expected to get a game this year, Starc&#8217;s absence forced KKR to play him.

D&#8217;Arcy Short was the leading run-scorer at the Big Bash League this year. He set the league on fire and smashed the bowlers all around the huge Australian stadiums. But as soon as he stepped on the Indian soil, his troubles playing against spin were evident. Oppositions exploited this weakness of his and never allowed him to settle down. <p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/three-captaincy-replacement-options-available-for-delhi-daredevils/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Delhi Daredevils</strong></a> already had the worst season this year and adding to the headaches was Glenn Maxwell. His form this year was not at all noteworthy and he has caused many selection headaches for the team. He got the most chances among the foreign players but still failed to deliver.</p>
<p>He has only scored 169 runs in the 12 games that he played this season. His average took a huge dip this year. It was only 14, his third-lowest in his seven-year IPL career. He built the pressure on the other batsmen with his poor batting and shot selection this year. With the ball, he only managed to pick 5 wickets.</p>

<h3>4. Mustafizur Rahman | Mumbai Indians</h3>

<p>Mustafizur Rahman shot into the limelight in the ODI series against India in 2015. He impressed everyone with his variations and batsmen found it tough to pick him. His stock delivery was bowled at 140 clicks while his slower one was bowled at about 110 clicks. Subsequently, he was picked by SRH and played a great part in them winning the title in 2016.</p>
<p>However, he only played one game in 2017 due to the excessive workload. Furthermore, his pace came down several notches due to his shoulder injury. So, batsmen now don&#8217;t find it all that difficult to pick him. But still, MI purchased him at the auction for INR 2.2 crores and that didn&#8217;t turn out to be a great move. He only picked 7 wickets in 7 games and was expensive.</p>
<h3>5. Mitchell Johnson | Kolkata Knight Riders</h3>

<p>Mitchell Johnson was a surprise buy by the KKR at the auction this year. He hasn&#8217;t had great times with the ball in the last three seasons. However, KKR went ahead with him and will regret their decision now. Although Johnson wasn&#8217;t expected to get a game this year, Starc&#8217;s absence forced KKR to play him.</p>
<p>Johnson played 6 games for the franchise this year but was utterly disappointing. He only picked 2 wickets in all these games and couldn&#8217;t make any impact. He conceded over 10 runs per over this season and it is surprising the Dinesh Karthik backed him all this way.</p>

<h3>6. D&#8217;Arcy Short | Rajasthan Royals</h3>

<p>D&#8217;Arcy Short was the leading run-scorer at the Big Bash League this year. He set the league on fire and smashed the bowlers all around the huge Australian stadiums. Short was also picked in the Australian team on the back of these performances. The franchises seemed to be quite impressed with him and looked to acquire his services.</p>
<p>But as soon as he stepped on the Indian soil, his troubles playing against spin were evident. Oppositions exploited this weakness of his and never allowed him to settle down. His maiden IPL stint was a huge disappointment. Short only managed to score 115 runs in 7 games at an average of 16 and strike rate of just 116.</p>

<h3>7. Aaron Finch | Kings XI Punjab</h3>

<p>The wedding blues for Aaron Finch never seemed to have finished this season. He missed the first game this season as he was getting married and what was to come later on were only nightmares for this Aussie batsmen. KXIP lost several games as he failed to deliver in the middle overs.</p>
<p>He has scored 134 runs in 10 games this season at an average of 17. Although his strike rate was around 135, he failed to accumulate the runs. He just seemed to be too casual with his batting this season and threw his wicket away on several occasions. KXIP&#8217;s fortunes this year could have been different this year had he delivered.</p>

<h3>8. Chris Jordan | Sunrisers Hyderabad</h3>

<p>If you would ask them, the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/srh-deserves-a-pat-on-the-back-for-exceptional-performance-feels-david-warner/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>SRH</strong></a> management wouldn&#8217;t want to let go any of their overseas players this year. They have all done well in their own rights and there is no real reason to bid them adieu. But, if they are to leave out one overseas player, it has to be Chris Jordan or Alex Hales.</p>
<p>Jordan is more likely to be the choice to send off as he has stayed with the team for quite a while now. However, he hasn&#8217;t got as many chances and doesn&#8217;t really fit into the dynamics of the side. Now that they have got a player like Carlos Brathwaite, they might be looking to part ways with Jordan. In the last two years, he only played two games for the side picking up 1 wicket. He was also expensive and didn&#8217;t have to do anything with the bat.</p>
