One of the finest batters in the last few editions of the IPL, Rahul Tripathi will be the opener and leader of this team. After doing well for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the last edition, Tripathi was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 2022 season for a whopping amount of INR 8.5 crore.

Starting the season with a duck, the 31-year-old returned with quickfire knocks of 44 and 39, which further enhanced his confidence. He was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his whirlwind knock of 71* off 37 balls against KKR. Tripathi’s knocks pushed the confidence of the middle-order to chase down the totals in a consistent manner.

In the penultimate game against Mumbai Indians (MI), Tripathi hit his season’s best score of 76 runs in 44 balls to help SRH get a much-needed win after five losses on the trot. In 14 matches, he finished with 413 runs at a strike rate of 158.23 and returned as the second most run-getter for SRH.
