The pitch at Trent Bridge in Nottingham was deemed to be a batsman’s paradise and the first few overs of the match between England and India manifested the same. In the first ten overs, the Brits put on 71 runs and threatened to take the match away from the visiting team. After Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow played their strokes freely.

However, the innings fell away thereafter courtesy of some immaculate pieces of bowling by the wrist spinners, especially Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up a six-wicket haul. Yuzvendra Chahal, the right arm tweaker also played his part and churned out a spell of 10-0-51-1. He bowled 23 dot balls and was able to restrict the batsmen somehow. He also picked up Eoin Morgan’s wicket.

Chahal’s hilarious act

Suresh Raina took a simple catch off his bowling to send back the English captain. Meanwhile, an interesting incident sparked during the match. In one moment, Chahal was seen crouching on the ground with his hands on his knee along with a smile of grimace on his face. The antic seemed similar the one by Brazilian footballer Neymar, who put forth a similar act in the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

During Brazil’s round of 16 match against Mexico, Neymar scored a goal in the 51st minute to take them into the lead. In the dying stages of the match, Neymar tried to tackle Miguel Layun and then the Paris Saint-Germain forwardย threw himself on the ground and acted as if he had injured his leg. It was considered to be a strategy to waste time and not give their opponents a foothold into the match.

Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell posted the picture of Chahal on Instagram. Twitter also couldn’t hold on to their laughter after seeing the incident and they sarcastically trolled Chahal on his action.
