The 35th week witnessed some thrilling Test matches across Bangladesh-Australia and England-West Indies series where Bangladesh registered their maiden Test win over the Aussies while the West Indies, emerging from an embarrassing innings defeat, got the better of England to level the series. India, on the other hand, continued their dominance over the Lankans while the Nottinghamshire side bagged the NatWest T20 Blast title.

Here we look at the major records and stats generated during the 35th week of 2017.

1 – Shakib Al Hasan became the first player to score 1000 runs and take 50 wickets in Test cricket at a venue. He accomplished this feat at Dhaka during the first Test match against Australia.

1 – Shai Hope became the first player to score centuries in both innings of a first-class match at Headingley, Leeds which has hosted 533 FC matches before the 2nd Test match between England and West Indies.

2 – Shakib is the 2nd player in the Test history to do the double of a fifty and ten wickets in a match more than once. Sir Richard Hadlee achieved the double on three different occasions.

4 – Shakib became only the 4th player in Test history to take a 5-wicket haul against nine different teams. He completed the feat quickest among the four as he took only 50 Tests.

4 – Dwayne Smith now holds the record for scoring most number of centuries in the CPL. He scored his 4th century in the tournament and the 2nd of the season against St. Lucia Stars going past Chris Gayle’s tally of three tons.

6 – Number of International captains who have led Sri Lanka in 2017; the joint-most number of captains across formats in a calendar year for a team. Zimbabwe and England also had six captains in 2001 and 2011 respectively.

12 – Joe Root is only the 2nd player after AB de Villiers to score fifty-plus scores in 12 consecutive Test matches. Root’s streak started from the 2nd Test against Bangladesh.

17 – Number of centuries for Kohli in International cricket as captain; the most for any Indian captain. He went past Sourav Ganguly’s 16 International hundreds.

73 – MS Dhoni has been unbeaten on 73 occasions in ODI cricket so far. He went past Chaminda Vaas and Shaun Pollock, who were not out in 72 innings in this format.

375/5 – India’s total of 375/5 in the 4th ODI is their highest ODI total in Sri Lanka and the highest for any team in Sri Lanka against the hosts. Team India had previously scored 363/5 at this venue in 2009. Only Sri Lanka’s 398/5 against Kenya in 1996 and Pakistan’s 385/7 against Bangladesh in 2010 are higher totals in ODIs in Sri Lanka than India’s 375.

400 – India became the first team to record 400 100-run partnerships in ODI cricket. The century partnership between Manish Pandey and MS Dhoni in the 4th ODI is the 400th century stand for India in ODIs.

467 – MS Dhoni became the most capped wicketkeeper in International cricket after featuring in the 4th ODI. He went past Mark Boucher who played 466 International matches as a wicketkeeper.
